FAQs
What makes R&B different from other preschool settings?
The simple answer is the teacher-student ratio and the exceptional quality and experience of the teachers. From the high-quality materials and products we use, food we eat, and adventures we plan, we are focused on your child having an enriched experience. Your child’s introduction to school and learning should be exceptional and full of love. Continued education and trainings are encouraged and supported by R&B.
Is R&B open all year? What schedule does R&B follow?
Rose & Buds follows the AISD calendar with minor changes to fit the needs of families and staff. R&B is open during the summer months.
What food/drinks are offered at school?
We offer a variety of all organic food during snack time. Snack time is a daily ritual; the group will learn a routine song and use key ASL words. We will discuss where our snacks came from and how they are grown. This practice and community time promotes healthy eating and diversifies your child’s palate. Children will bring their own lunches.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
No. Children are not pressured to be potty trained at R&B. Often, children potty train socially, at school, by seeing their peers and wanting to learn with them. If potty training feels like a burden, we are here to strategize and offer support to you and your child. Because all tushies are different, we ask you to supply diapers for your child.
What cleaning products are used at R&B?
We use only eco-friendly, natural, organic ingredients that are biodegradable. We use as minimal plastic as possible, and cloths over paper towels. There is on site composting, which is part of the curriculum (the amazing power of worms!).
What if my child doesn’t nap?
Nap time is extremely valuable to a child’s growth and development. The transition from lunch into nap will be a calm one, with stories being read and lullabies being sung. Even if your child does not fall asleep, it is a quiet time. If children can not sleep, we will have an area for quietly looking at books or drawing, independently, so as not to disturb other sleeping bodies.
Have a fun skill to teach?
There is nothing more fun for the kids than when parents get involved. If you’ve got a magic trick, fun musical instrument, cute pet, great story time read, or just a special skill, we love to host parent-led activities and lessons.
